With studies that were leading me towards a career in law, it was at the Collège de France that my taste in event organization was born. At that point, what had been a sort of playground turned into a passionate career. Creating exceptional experiences for clients and telling their stories.
It's this desire to tell stories that now keeps me awake until the wee hours of the morning. Like a scribe, by the light of a lamp, I fill notebooks while my partner urges me to turn off this too-bright light during the hours when respectable people are at rest.
Since my childhood, I have been able to rely on pivotal encounters through my stays in different lands. The first, and for sure the most significant, outside of the family environment, was meeting Madame Blanchard. I was 10 years old, and it was my first day of 5th grade at Honoré de Balzac school in Kenitra, Morocco. I was petrified. She saw me with her attentive eye. She took my hand when I was at a loss for words and said:
« Anick, when words don't come easily, you need to write them down ».
Several lives in different places and meetings with other extraordinary women, determined and aware of their worth: each of these encounters has been a source of inspiration. I still admire these bold women today. The strength and creativity with which they reinvent themselves at each stage of their lives is a remarkable lesson.
Through IWM, I aim to highlight these women in order to convey the values of courage and renewal. And, by doing that, to inspire other women to embrace change and pursue their dreams without fear.
In addition to being a professional event organizer and creative writer, Anick Nyambita-Vessier is an entrepreneur, novelist and mother of three. She has lived, worked and/or studied in Cameroon and other sub-Saharan African countries, Morocco, France, Turkey, the UK, and now Italy.
